Last year heard I of police services in the country buy Segways and I wondered whether there was a use for them in law of enforcement. I saw news footage of people with Segways and they seemed slow and bulky. I also thought they must be dangerous after the visit to crashes so many videos of people on them (the videos were very amusing)

A few months ago, I learned that my agency was a fleet of the buy Segways and training would be interested with them take part. Recently, I attended the seminar and I must say I am quite impressed with the Segway.

The most impressive aspect of the Segway is its speed. They top out at around 12.5 miles per hour which is a pretty good price of speed. You accelerate quickly and officer could with one suspect, escape on foot or by bicycle to easily catch up.

The Segway HT will benefit a Police Department in maps where officers with large numbers of people or urban areas such as inner cities and apartment complexes to do. It is also a great community policing tool in that it will include officers from their cruisers and above and Personals with the community. Officers are able to easily to approach and communicate with the people while on the Segway.

I think that quickly enough and quiet enough for narcotics and many others patrol functions are used the Segway that ideal community policing tool, but it is.
