Family Vacation Ideas: Outdoor Activities at Biltmore Estate - Segway.

Segway Tour In Baltimore Estate

For many who visit the Asheville, NC area, seeing Biltmore Estate is the number one item on their itinerary. A trip to Biltmore Estate provides a glimpse of the lifestyle of one of the wealthiest families in the United States, the Vanderbilts, at the turn of the 20th Century. Most who visit the Estate want to tour the house, gardens and winery. This tour is highly recommended to those who have never been. When visitors ask me what else there is to do at Biltmore Estate, I always have ideas. In spring, summer and fall, I like to suggest outdoor activities at Biltmore Estate for families, small groups and individuals who would like to see another side of this vast, 8,000 acre estate.

To make a reservation for an outdoor activity, you must purchase a Day Pass to Biltmore Estate or hold a Twelve-Month Pass. There are additional fees for outdoor activities, and the weather must be good to engage in most of them.

Segway Tour
For those seeking a more comprehensive view of Biltmore Estate without walking up and down hills, the Segway Tour is ideal. Participants stand upright on this motorized, two wheel device that is easy to operate and fun! A guided, 3.5 hour tour of the Lagoon area also includes a training lesson on Segways. The basic Segway tour is conducted on paved roads. For those who are even more adventurous - select an off-road Segway Tour. Segway tours are available from April through December, weather permitting.

Land Rover Driving Lesson
Four-wheel driving enthusiasts - get ready for this exciting tour of Biltmore Estate. There are two choices for the Land Rover tour. For those who want to learn how to drive off road and test their skills, Land Rover driving lessons are available. Book a one or two hour lesson and a tour of Land Rover trails. For visitors who prefer to take the passenger seat on the Land Rover tour, opt for the Land Rover Ride-Along Expedition and sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Take a Float Trip Down the French Broad River
Floating on a raft or kayak down the French Broad River is a pleasant and relaxing way to see Biltmore Estate's extensive farms, fields, forests and riverfront land. Float trips are available from April through October and are dependent upon weather conditions. Choose a guided raft trip or a self-guided kayaking trip.

Fly Fishing
Imagine spending a half day or full day fly fishing at Biltmore Estate. If you are new to the sport of fly fishing, select a 2-hour or half day fly fishing lesson first. It is not necessary to have a NC fishing license for either of these options. Participants will learn casting, landing the fish, knots, and other essential skills from experienced guides. Intermediate and advanced level fly fisherman are encouraged to participate in a full day Guided Fly Fishing Adventure. Participants can take a float trip down the French Broad River and fish for Smallmouth Bass or wade into a private trout stream in their quest for the biggest fish. A NC fishing license is required for the full day Guided Fly Fishing Adventures. Participants must be 7 years of age or older.

Sporting Clay Lesson
Many of Biltmore Estate's earliest guests visited the Estate to go on hunting expeditions in the forested, wilderness areas. Today's visitors have the opportunity to shoot moving clay targets instead of live targets - with a Beretta shotgun. Guests may shoot sporting clays under the supervision of a qualified instructor. Or, advanced marksman may opt for the Trapper Program, gaining access to a 5-stand sporting clays course that will challenge any rifleman. All equipment is provided. Participants must be 12 years or older and all guests under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Biking at Biltmore Estate
Ride some of Biltmore's extensive bike trails with your own bike - or rent one at the Bike Barn. Woodland trails offer challenges while the paved path along the French Broad River is an easier grade, for a more leisurely pace. A bike trail pass costs $5 in addition to a Biltmore Estate day pass. Bikers must register at the Bike Barn and will receive orientation and trail maps at this location. Hourly, full day and half day bike rentals are available at the Bike Barn, too. Or, take a guided bike tour.

Horseback Riding or Carriage Rides
Experienced or novice horse enthusiasts will be thrilled to take a trail ride through Biltmore Estate's fields and woodlands. Opt for a guided one hour trail ride, or select a private trail ride. Some will prefer a horse driven carriage ride at a more leisurely pace. Hop up onto a 12-person carriage driven by a guide and two horses, and treat yourself to exclusive views of Biltmore Estate's grounds. Or, if you prefer, book a private carriage ride.

When engaging in outdoor activities at Biltmore Estate, always dress appropriately for varied weather conditions, bring plenty of water, sunscreen and bug spray.

Incorporate any of these outdoor activities into a visit of Biltmore Estate for an active, fun trip that includes sights you may never see on the traditional tour of the house, gardens, farm and winery. Bring your family, a friend or loved one to share the adventure and a camera to record images of your visit to this special place.

Kickbike - A Kick Butt Lower Body Workout

Kickbike

See it to believe it ... use it to FEEL it!
Fancy a lower body workout that's fun and competitive?
Welcome to the world of KICKBIKING! You've gotta see it to believe it!
WHAT'S A Kickbike ANYWAY?

A Kickbike is a scooter/bicycle hybrid. It features a scooter platform, front tyre like a bicycle and back tyre like a scooter. It's not pedal-powered but it IS person-powered! You want to move? It's all up to you! Unless you're on a downhill slope and then gravity's your best friend in the whole wide world!

Kickbike was designed by Hannu Vierikko, a Finnish doctor who ran marathons and wanted to get in shape without injuring his joints. The Kickbike is the fastest scooter in the world!

WHAT KIND OF WORKOUT DOES IT GIVE?

It uses the same muscles as running, yet is lower impact. In fact, a Kickbike workout uses even more muscles than running. It's propelled by pushing off with alternate legs in a motion very similar to running.

Over hilly terrain, twenty minutes on a Kickbike equals around one hour and fifteen minutes on a road bike.

WHO'D USE A KICKBIKE?

Kickbike is a decidedly grown up scooter! It's not going to fold up so you can tuck it under your arm and head to the 7-Eleven for a Big Gulp. It's not the kind of thing you'll trade for Pokemon Cards with your school buddies. It's a serious workout machine and deserves a little respect.

- The Australian Kickbike Racing Team can't imagine life without it!

- Women love it for the definition it helps them build up in their backsides and thighs.

- Athletes use it for training.

- Dog-sledders ride their Kickbike while their canine team lead them over the course.

- Enthusiasts regularly hold and attend tournaments and events all over the country and the world!

4 DIFFERENT MODELS

The designers of Kickbike developed four different styles to suit a range of exercise and transportation needs.

THE CITY CRUISER: It'll have you you running errands in style, while turning your legs and backside into the envy of your friends! Kick leisurely in the park, improve your overall fitness and attract glances while you do it! The City Cruiser's upright position and enhanced wheels maximise rider form and comfort.

THE X-COUNTRY: Go off-road, up mountains, along streams, wherever your inclination takes you! With front fork suspension and disk brake, you can go hard and get dirty!

THE SPORT CLASSIC: The durable tires are fast on city streets, but still provide traction and comfort on country roads. Functionally designed, the ergonomic frame, slick rims and lowered handlebars, further enhanced with an angle adjustable stem, make it the best cross-trainer available.

THE MILLENNIUM RACER: The MR is for the athlete in search seeking the best equipment and peak experiences without compromise. Every detail has been considered with speed and lightness in mind. This is truly the fastest scooter money can buy.

THE WHEEL DEAL: Kickbike is made from high-tech bicycle components like aluminium alloy handlebars and Trans X components, which are found in many high-end mountain bikes. There are no chains or gears and no bicycle grease. They weigh around eight and a half kilograms and you can carry two in the back of a car!

WHAT ELSE? Well, so many people are talking Kickbiking, that you don't have to look far for enthusiastic repartee! There are Yahoo Groups, websites devoted to the sport, and there's even a Podcast for Kickbikers!

Do not underestimate Kickbike for a kick-butt workout ... and have fun doing it!

$250,000 Per year with Segway games

Segway Games

Description:Have a place, the fun Segway games for parties and team of offers-building events
Start-up costs: $50K-$ 100 k
Possible income: $280 k per year or more

Everyone has a curiosity about Segways... I mean, really, a human two wheel transporter, which almost everywhere, only a shift in direction can take you. It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie with floating cars and food replicators of Star Trek. And that is, why a company uses is such a lucrative idea - Segways because your marketing presence with the intrigues of the mysterious human transporter buzzes. It is this "super human" effect, convince the people that they absolutely need a Segway for your next party or event.

Here's how it works:
Buy some Segways

Segways usually cost about $5,000, but you may find that some ones on eBay or Craigslist used. You need about ten human transporter, so that you can organize two teams of five, if you host an event. Want to buy you to buy from a dealer need that sold, new Segways in your area.

What to offer

OK, as if the pleasure of a Segway is not riding alone make good enough-it even more enticing. Think about it, that a Bachelor Party that turns to play the collection assembled the flag with paintball guns on the handlebar of your van. That would be so cool! Would people that eat up!

Or how about Segway Polo. Knowledge, riding around on horses a mallet and strategically tries to hit the ball on the ground, your team-mates for a score in the opponent's goal. Yes, you all this excitement except that on a Segway instead of a horse. Only the pure fun... .. .and team... .. .and more fun!

Make some Moola out of

All you really need is a small amount in an area with a lot of traffic on your business get up and go. Paintball venues charge about twenty bucks a head, so let us remember, how much money out of this idea only $10 per person could make.

If you have ten Segways and are open 10 hours a day, six days a week, ten dollars per head to calculate and have two games of capture the flag or Polo can make up to $100 per hour or $24,000 a month in an hour.

She would be rich only half of this income per month... sounds pretty good to me!

I think business ideas so you don't have to. Check out [http://Moneyloo.com] for more ideas.

Planning a Family Adventure in Singapore :- Segway.

Segway Adventure in Singapore

Finding day trips, vacations, and fun activities that the entire family can enjoy together might be difficult at times. If you have smaller children in the family, they are not always suitable for the things older children and adults would like to do. Teenagers may turn their noses up at virtually any vacation idea that the parents come up with. If you have grandparents that want to be involved, they may have health conditions that can limit what they are able to do and at what pace they may be able to do certain things.

The solution is to find a variety of fun activities that are suitable for most members of the family. This way, you can ensure that everyone has something fun that they can participate in over the course of the day trip or vacation. Following are just a few things available for families in Singapore. Do you think they could get members of your family excited?

Indoor Wall Climbing at Paya Lebar

Indoor wall climbing is suitable to all members of the family because there are walls at all skill levels. There are walls for children to race around on and then larger walls that would challenge even a professional climber. Adults can choose their wall depending on their skill level, or just hang out with the kids and enjoy the easier walls as a family.

Climbing is a great activity to keep children active when the weather is not well suited to sunbathing or playing in the water. The walls are indoors at Pay Lebar, so you can get everyone moving and build up excitement to see who can go the furthest or up the most challenging wall. Take a break for lunch and then go back for more climbing, or just make this an afternoon activity followed by other adventures.

Tour Sentosa Beaches on Segways

There are two beaches to be explored on this island, and it only takes about a half hour to hop on Segways and tour one or the other. There are also some dedicated Segway courses that allow beginning riders to learn the ropes of Segway adventures.

This is a great activity to turn into a day trip with the family. You can spend time off the segways romping on the beach, swimming, or building castles. There are areas for water sports, sand volleyball, and other sporting activities as well. Stopping for lunch is also an option, before returning on the segways to end the day trip.

Water Sports at Punggol Marina

There is a designated area in this marina just for water sports. You can take the family out in a banana boat for a bit of relaxation or take it up a notch and let the older kids enjoy wakeboarding or water skiing. There is always knee boarding for those who cannot safely stand upright on the water boards or water skis. You can rent a motorboat for a couple hours to take the adults and older kids out for any variety of sports on the water.

Of course, younger members of the family can enjoy the beach or grab a bite to eat while the older ones head out for water sports. This marina is a great place to spend a weekend or just a day.
There are many other things to do in Singapore, but it might be nice just to explore the streets and local restaurants as well. Get creative, and every member of the family will have a blast.

New life for your batteries – including this expensive Segway batterypack

Segway Batteries

Today is all wireless and mobile - and this means rechargeable. Of course, all our batteries are covered the manufacturer's warranty. Right? Yes, right. Replacement batteries are as Segway human transporter expensive, especially for special devices. Segway  replacement battery packs can up to several hundred dollars per piece cost. If you poor performance or reduced range, may is another option for the purchase of new replacement battery packs.

This process is called "Cycling" in the battery industry. Simply put, this is the process to submit your battery to full charge and was unloaded, this reduction or elimination of the "memory effect" turns out, that in normal use with nickel-cadmium (NiCd) and nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. Although this process has shown to increase the capacity for free of NiCd and NiMH batteries, batteries that are found commonly in cell phones and laptops and never (Pb) lead-acid batteries, perform this process on lithium-ion (Li-ion) never , are often for automobiles and makes backups. Check always your battery pack before you start, they should show what kind of batteries in the Pack are included.

Segway Cycling should be free of charge etc. significantly increase procedures for budget or handheld battery that performs NiCad or NiMH capacity, including many common elements, such as cordless phones, shavers, power tools.

First a little about the phenomenon of memory effect (already mentioned), occurs in NiCd and NiMH batteries. The memory effect happens when the device with these types of batteries discharge just a small part of its potential capacity before a recharge, as talks about a cordless phone for a few minutes at a time, or take a short ride on the Segway, then place it on the charger and repeat this process allows. In the course of time the cells within the battery pack "remember" the short duration of use, and then act as if this duration as its full capacity.

At this time to determine that that not performs device, where it often need to be charged, and his time of the operation is reduced.

Most of the time, can your battery cycle and to regain much of its lost. This simple procedure can take a little time, but it is easy to do.

Everything what is necessary, use the device or allow it to discharge, to the point that the battery almost fully unloaded. As an example of a cordless phone, you would press to use 'on' or 'speak' and the phone, until it turns off due to weak battery to enable. The battery then the phone without interruption. Repeat this operation three-to five times. Thus, the memory effect to reverse and restore time.

A word of caution: when a device during this process to empty it almost is, have not completely unload. Complete discharge for NiCd and NiMH can be harmful for these types of batteries. Most elements, such as cordless phones and Segways will automatically be switched off is before a full discharge. Elements such as cordless drills and razor should not be left unattended left, because they not switched off before the full delivery be. Therefore, my husband is often found around his razor or cordless drill in hand waiting for the note, the that the battery is at the end of its life cycle run. You'll see when it just stops or slows down to a crawl.

By the way, we this cycle process with our Segway done and received more than 30% increase of in total capacity after only 3 cycles. We stopped the Segway is leaning against a wall in a safe, secure place, even dismissed in balance mode until the batteries. Have you prevented no fear - the Segway total discharge of cells by isolating itself from the full battery discharge.

Don't worry, if you see an increase, but not after the third cycle, which means that only the batteries have a new memory and are ready to go. Even if you don't, get a boost in performance, this indicates fault or even dead cells such as charger a more serious problem, damaged.

Cycling is easy and inexpensive. Try it and have always battery life for each cycle so that you can see to increase performance. The last but not least you can enjoy all the money that you save all this poor high-performance battery replaced!

Disney World-Segway Tours - a great experience for baby boomers (andeven older)!

Disney World Segway Tours

The Fear

My husband and I had been to Walt Disney World seven times, going on average every two to three years while our son was growing up. Our eighth trip, taken just last year with our 27-year- old son and daughter-in-law, was a little different. Because we had been to Disney World so many times, our son wanted to do a couple of "Behind-the- Scenes" tours. I wasn't sure I was up to one of them that he suggested.

The "Around the World at Epcot on a Segway" tour certainly sounded exciting. Who hasn't wanted to try one of these futuristic means of transportation? They looked like great fun. But my husband was 58 and I was a year younger. Although we're both in good shape, neither one of us is particularly athletic. And I've never considered myself to be very co-ordinated.

But I decided to go online and find out more about the tour. One of my first stops was at the AllEars.Net site where I found (at present time) 50 reviews, with a 9.9 average rating and recommended by 100% of the reviewers. This sounded like something not to be missed!

As I began reading the reviews, I found mention of other people in their 50's (and even a few in their 60's) who had done this and not only survived but who would gladly do it again. This was certainly encouraging. But the clincher for me came when I read a posting from a woman who had done this with her mother, aged 70, and aunt who was 77 years old! I figured that if these two adventuresome ladies were able to do this, then certainly my husband and I should be willing to give it a try. So I immediately signed us all up.

The Experience

Although the tour is given at 4 times during the day, I requested the second time slot of the day (8:30 a.m.) Since it was going to be on the last day of our vacation, I reasoned that we would be dragging by then and wasn't sure we could make the earlier 7:45 time. Note: plan on taking a taxi if you're taking one of the early tours and don't have your own transportation. The busses and monorails may not be operating at that time in the morning.

The parking attendant told us we were too early to enter, but when we informed her that we were scheduled for the Segway tour, she let us right in and told us where to go. You enter the park itself through the entrance for the Norway Princess Storybook breakfast (where they have your name), and then go to Guest Relations, located to the left of Spaceship Earth.

You'll need to sign a waiver (I guess accidents could happen -- but don't let this stop you. It turned out to be a very safe experience). Your tour guide will then take you to the indoor Segway training area room, located in the Innoventions Building.

Here's where you'll learn about safety and get some basic practice. You'll start with a brief introduction to the Segway and its history, followed by a quick video. Then you'll select a helmet and a Segway. At this point I was starting to get really nervous. I really was not sure I could do this.

Fortunately, our tour guide put us at ease, and worked with us individually and in a group. We learned how to mount and dismount, and how to work with the machine (which is constantly moving) to balance ourselves. It really was not hard. There were seven of us in our group, and none of us had ever been on a Segway before. And I noticed that even though my husband and I were the oldest ones there (but by possibly only a couple of years -- the other couple who were there with their son looked to be about in their early 50's), we were doing just as well as everyone else. In spite of my fears, it turned out to be pretty easy.

Admittedly, we were all a little shaky at first. But we quickly got over that. Our confidence grew even more as we practice going forward, backwards, stopping, turning, weaving around cones, going up and down ramps, and moving in a group. It was so much fun, I forgot to be nervous. After training for maybe half an hour, we were ready to venture outside.

Our first stop was to use the restrooms (a good idea). And then we were off to the World Showcase area. Since it doesn't open until 11 a.m., we had the place to ourselves (other than a few workers getting the place ready for the day, artists painting at their canvases, and a few fishermen out on a pontoon on the lake). Since I had only visited EPCOT when it was packed with tourists, this was a real thrill.

We visited several pavilions, weaving ourselves among the columns in Italy and the fountains and wares of Morocco. My favorite spot was when we traveled around the gardens and ponds behind the Japanese pavilion. Our tour guides provided interesting information along the way. And finally, we were able to just do some free-style riding on our own near Italy. We practiced our spins and turns, and went as fast as we could (which was only about 6 miles per hour). Our guides took pictures for us of the four of us poised on our Segways against a backdrop of Spaceship Earth in the background.

Much too soon, we had to head back to our starting place. By then there were people in the park. Fortunately, the cast members prepared the way for us and stopped other tourists at intersections so we could make our way easily (without running anyone over). This turned out to be a lot of fun. People was pointing, and saying things like "I want to do that!". We certainly felt special!

I will admit though that spending that much time standing up and controlling the Segway's balance by flexing muscles you weren't even aware you had can take its toll. I did so well with everything -- until my final dismount. I bumped lightly into the wall; I think I was a little stiff by that point. But fortunately no harm was done to the wall, the Segway or me -- just my pride. But even that minor mishap did not dampen my thrill at having done this. (And I had read about much younger people having similar "accidents", so age was definitely not a factor)!

I had also been a little concerned for both my daughter-in-law and myself, because both of us had had foot surgeries, and would experience pain when doing a lot of walking. Others had reported foot and leg pain, recommending that you try this tour on the last day of your vacation. But I was just fine with no side-effects within an hour. So if I could handle this, I really believe anyone can -- don't let your age stop you! It's not as hard as you might think. And out of all our trips to Disney World, this is the experience I treasure most. It really was the most amazing, fun, and wonderful thing I've ever done at Disney World and is not to be missed! I can't wait till our next trip. I'll definitely do it again -- I don't care how old I am!

The Basics:

Reservations: (407) WDW-TOUR Cost: $105.44, subject to change. (Discounts may be available for Triple A (Diamond) or Disney Vacation Club members, Annual Passholders, Disney Visa Cardholders, and Disney Cast Members.... be sure to ask). Note: You'll also need to pay for park admission. Times: 7:45, 8:30, 9:00, and 9:30 a.m. (Arrive 15 minutes early) Each tour lasts two hours. Ages: The minimum is 16. You'll be glad to know there is no upper limit! Weight: You must weigh between 100 and 250 pounds. Other Segway experiences are available: A 3-hour behind the scenes Future World Tour, and a 2-hour Fort Wilderness tour. (Both of these are done on an off-road style of Segway)

Tips:

Book the earliest tour you can. Next time I would definitely go with the 7:45 a.m. time. Then we won't have to deal with the crowds at all. But be aware you might need to provide your own transportation or take a taxi if the Disney Transportation is not running that early. (Also -- you cannot enter through the International Gateway; so even if you're staying at one of the Epcot hotels, you'll need to have your own transportation to get to the main entrance for Future World). Bring photo ID - it may be required. Don't forget your camera. Wear sturdy shoes! Be aware that this can eat up a chunk of your prime early morning park touring time. By the time you get out,, some of the lines for the attractions might be rather long. Try to pick a day that is not a busy one. (Definitely don't go when on a day when there is early or late entry -- those tend to be the busiest). Or if do pick a busy day at Epcot, but have a Park Hopper ticket, switch to a less busy park after your Segway tour. Plan for the weather -- it might be chilly. Even if it's rainy, you might still be able to tour. You can choose to do just the indoor part; and if it's not raining heavily, you may be able to do the outside portion as well. You'll get a refund for all or part of the tour, depending on how much you choose to do. And finally -- don't let your age stop you! It doesn't matter one bit. And we baby boomers always were a bit adventuresome anyway!

Segway Scooter in Need of New Innovations

Segway And New Innovations

InnovationSegway Scooter in Need of New Innovations Upgrading because for all the hoopla it lacks the latest and greatest technological advances and it does not impress everyone. The Segway Team? Come on get with the latest technology will ya? Regarding this idea:

http://www.msnbc.com/news/754336.asp?cp1=1

Segway guys are brilliant no doubt, but we could send them back to the drawing board instantly for limiting their ideas. Lets start with it's most basic component, namely "The wheel" is an ancient component and if you want to build something revolutionary, build it without wheels and without touching the ground and without need for re-charging. It can be designed better. Here is how. Take Bruce DePalma's perpetual motion machine to make the energy, thus by adding such a feature you would not need recharging and without the wheels you could move more weight faster with less energy. How you say? Well first off using hydro-cushioned technology like is used on hover craft. And think you are only wishing to move a human body which we are talking an average of 250 Lbs. To do this and keep the air underneath you put a small brush guard system under the device where you stand. Then blow 1-2 lbs. of low pressure air under it. Hardly any power needed to lift 250 Lbs or less. This will lift the thing off the ground.

So instead of wheels the thing is magic and hovers, way better and more state of the art too. Now put 18 small jets which move the air in the intended direction of travel up to the gyroscope or small circuit board which is a miniature laser ring gyro to keep it from falling over as you steer it by shifting your weight. When you turn by moving your body weight the devises jets move you from side to side while being simultaneously running by the gyro. The system will prevent you from tipping over like an F-16's system which prevents the pilots from turning too many G's so the plane does not depart from flight or the pilot black out. Now you have a hovering mobile with gyro, works exactly the same and does not need any fuel. Just like back to the future ehy? It physically works. I once met the guy who built the first hydro cushioned car, looked like a little flying saucer, he use to drive it around in LosAngeles on the 101 Freeway in the 1960s. He was paranoid because the establishment had come after him due to his messing with big business and General Motors and the auto industry. I met him at Denny's in Woodland Hills, CA in 1996. His technology is now moving 100,000 Lb. pallets with aircraft fuelalages on them during the production cycle in Everette WA. He also designed the hydro cushioned bullet train which was never built but was a project to travel people to LasVegas from LosAngeles on high speed rail, which would keep the trains from touching the ground. No friction means little loss of energy.

Someone should challenge the Segway Team to further innovate and not cut the consumers short. The unit should continue the technological trend to be the best, quite frankly it is not good enough yet and that is a huge amount of venture capital to pay back for yesterdays technology even at $5,000 a pop. Am I too harsh on this wonderful invention? Oh probably, but if the manufacturers are not in it to win it and will not push themselves then perhaps we can help. We should challenge these guys, so they can build it better. Considering the wonderful publicity they have gotten including the US President trying one out, why can't they inspire themselves to take this technology to the next level, after all it is 2003 for God's Sake. Besides by adding my improvements it could be used on water too. You could cross a lake, rescue a sinking boat, it has thousands of other uses, you could even sweep the drive way with it. Or build a robotic one which hovers and sweeps for you?

I do not mean to be so critical but if you have that kind of money to blow in venture capital, why can't you build a better mouse trap?

Reinventing Failure: Designing Success :- Segway.

Reinventing Segway Failure

SegwayI am fascinated by problems. I like to think of myself as a solution oriented individual. However when problems creep into my life as they always do I know that I am in for a major learning experience.

I just finished reading a book this week that belongs on the bookshelf of every entrepreneur. It is called "Juice, The Creative Fuel That Drives World-Class Inventors by Evan I. Schwartz." This book allows you to take a peek inside the labs of the brightest minds and better understand how they relentlessly question and discover the infinite number of ways that we can imagine and create solutions. The book is an awesome expose on how world class inventors on the planet search for problems, seek to understand them and develop solutions that can only come about by perceiving the problem in a different manner. Every entrepreneur should read this book! It is chock full of wisdom that we can apply to our business lives.

Albert Einstein once commented that the most fundamental question we can ever ask ourselves is whether or not the universe we live in is friendly or hostile. He hypothesized that your answer to that question would determine your destiny. I feel that most people have decided that the universe is hostile. In so doing their immediate response to any problem only compounds the hostility. However, the great minds always teach us that regardless of the problem there is a major lesson to be understood if we only learn to look for it. The history of the world is literally the history of transformative breakthroughs.

In the book ""Juice, The Creative Fuel That Drives World-Class Inventors by Evan I. Schwartz" the author clearly demonstrates that the one factor that separates world class inventors from wannabes is that they celebrate the feedback they receive from FAILURE. The most innovative minds recognize that within every failure lies the true and genuine information that is required to learn how to better understand the problem and overcome the obstacles that it presents. They are fascinated by the feedback they receive and are consistently focused on experimenting further because of the feedback that will provide.

A powerful lesson for all of us! Failure is feedback and within that feedback is the wisdom of incredible success. Or as Dr. Wayne Dyer as stated, "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."

Take for example the story of Dean Kamen the inventor of the Segway, the two wheeled personal electronic vehicle that is revolutionizing transportation in our major cities. One day in 1990, Kamen witnessed a wheelchair bound man trying to navigate a curb en route to a shopping center. He followed the man into an ice cream store and was astonished at how the man struggled to reach for the counter and grab his ice cream cone. Within that experience Kamen was both outraged and inspired. The seeds of the Segway were born.

Two years later after numerous disappointments Kamen slipped on a wet bathroom floor and realized that the real problem he was confronting in his technology was one of balance. He and his team of engineers honed in on the enabling technology of electronic gyroscopes that could provide "automatic balance." It was only after years and years of failure and celebrating the feedback he received that they could focus on the successful introduction of the Segway prototype. Today, according to Kamen the Segway is the answer to the urban transportation problem. 43% of the world's gas is used by cars and almost 20% of individuals' disposable income goes to car payments and gasoline. The market for the Segway is several billion people! A fascinating creation brought about by someone who simply disagreed with limitations imposed by the status quo.

What is your greatest problem in life right now?

What is the greatest problem in your business?

The late Dr. Norman Vincent Peale was fond of saying that,
"When God wants to send you a gift he wraps it up in a problem and the bigger the gift that God sends you the bigger the problem."

If the Segway can be born by witnessing a wheelchair bound man in pursuit of an ice cream cone what are the possibilities that can occur in your life if you learn to seek the lesson in your problems?

An Nathan Myrhrvold, the former Chief Technologist at Microsoft Corporation has prophesied "There's never been a better time to have big ideas."

Eureka! When you reinvent failure you design your own success.

Top 5 Things To Do In Alicante

Things To Do In Alicante

AlicanteLast summer I had a wonderful day out in the city of Alicante. The shopping is to die for, the historical buildings plentiful, and the buzz of a hectic Spanish city, not forgetting eateries in abundance makes it a very pleasant change from the beach or pool on your summer holiday. Alicante is situated on the north Costa Blanca coast. Traditionally the coast that the Spanish used for their summer holidays, when you visit Alicante it feels like real Spain. There are several things that are a 'must' when visiting Alicante:

1. Sightseeing tour of Alicante on a Segway

2. Alicante Castle

3. Shopping in El Corte Ingles

4. Lunch in Alicante Marina

5. Alicante market on the tree lined promenade by the sea

First is a tour of Alicante on a Segway. Hilarious, fun, and definitely number one on the list of 'things to do' in Alicante. A Segway is a two wheel electronic scooter that you stand up on, and ride along the pavement. On a hot and sunny day the breeze is very welcoming. You all get to drive your own Segway, the tour guide teaches you how to, then off you go in convoy throughout the city of Alicante seeing the sights in a few hours.

I would then head off to Alicante Castle a 10th Century Moorish Castle which sits on the top of a mountain overlooking the city. Free to visit, you can walk up, but I wouldn't recommend it! There is a lift in the cliff edge but not from the sea level. Quite spectacular views from the Castle, and a great little café overlooking the beautiful city selling Tapas, and ice creams. We took my then 2 year old son with a sword and he thought he was a knight for the day!

No visit to Alicante is complete without popping into El Corte Ingles. Every Spanish city has one, and it is "the" shop to go to. El Corte Ingles is a huge department store over several floors with departments such as, homeware, children clothes, toys, handbags, cosmetics, music, films, books, women's clothes, menswear, and similar to Selfridges in that you can buy a high street swimsuit for 15 euros or a top designer swimsuit for 200 euros.

Alicante Marina is really quite posh; there are boats there that cost more to fill with fuel than my house costs to buy! Having said this, the restaurants are very down to earth, selling excellent fresh food. Forth on my top five things to do in Alicante would definitely be eat lunch at the Marina. Alicante Marina is also a good place to go for a drink and dance of an evening.

Last but certainly not least is to wander through the market after lunch. Located just behind the marina in the tree lined promenade it is a great way to walk off your meal. The market sells various products, ranging from jewellery, dream catchers, leathers bags and belts, and South American drums.

The only thing I would say to be wary of in Alicante is pick pocketers especially on the beach, apart from that it is a fabulous day out on your holiday in the Costa Blanca.

What You Can Learn From Product Launch Failures

If you're launching a new product, studying product launch failures can help protect you from making the same kinds of mistakes. Of course, each product has its own unique attributes, and market conditions fluctuate, so the reasons for a specific product launch failure will vary. Nevertheless, by analyzing the mistakes made by others -- even big companies that should know better -- you could increase your chances for success.

Here are three notorious product launch failures that you can learn from:

Sony Betamax

In the 1970s, the Japanese company Sony introduced a video recording system called Betamax. While Betamax featured great sound and picture quality for a home recording system, Sony decided to do something that turned out to be a fatal mistake. Because the company thought it had invented something so unique in the marketplace, Sony made Betamax technology proprietary. Sometimes keeping a technology proprietary is a good idea, but in this case, Sony misread the market for video recorders. Competitors, mostly other Japanese companies, came out with products that all standardized around a technology called VHS. Soon, every company was making VHS recorders and players, while Sony was the only manufacturer making the Betamax system. By 1988, Sony had to admit its failure and introduce its own line of VHS equipment. By that time, however, it was too late. Other companies had already dominated the VHS market.

Key lesson: Be sure you understand where a market is headed before you commit to a product direction -- especially one that isolates you from the mainstream.

Segway

In 2002, Dean Kamen, a renowned inventor who holds over 440 U.S.and foreign patents, introduced a two-wheel electric vehicle to the transportation marketplace called the Segway. There was tremendous buzz about the product even before its release. Some $100 million was invested in developing the product. When the Segway came to market, however, the public was underwhelmed. Perhaps the Segway was ahead of its time, or maybe the product couldn't live up to its hype, but the interest paled in comparison to the sales projections. The Segway was odd looking, it had technical problems, and it was expensive, averaging around $5,000 each, depending on the model. Touted as a vehicle that would revolutionize travel, the Segway flopped badly. Less than 30,000 units were sold in six years. It still exists, but is sold only for specialized usage. TIME magazine named the Segway one of "the ten biggest tech failures of the last decade."

Key lesson: When introducing a visionary product, be sure the market is ready to embrace it.

Netflix

In 2011, Netflix, the very successful DVD rental service, recognized that its video streaming service was the road to its future success. In an effort to move the company quickly in that direction, the Netflix CEO announced that it would unbundle the DVD service from the streaming service. Not only did the company change the pricing structure, it also announced that it would launch a separate service called Qwikster for its DVD customers. That meant customers who used both the DVD service and the streaming service would have to use two separate services for their rentals. The reaction from customers was swift and angry. In the third quarter of 2011 alone, Netflix had a loss of about one million subscribers -- 4 percent of its subscriber base in just three months. Its stock price also dropped dramatically. While Netflix did not retract its new pricing, the company was forced to reverse its decision to separate the two services. Qwikster was quickly quashed.

Key lesson: Launching a new service that fundamentally changes how a majority of customers do business with a company can backfire.

Technology provides the solution in the form of the Segway-transport and provides invaluable tourist tour without fatigue or confusion. Try this mixture of known places and secret travel spots for a day worth of site seeing entertainment. First, you start on the National Mall. The National Mall is a large park that has many companies, suppliers and events. It has the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and the glorious reflecting pool. The inner tour through the building itself is expensive, so stick to the edge of the city behind a large fence for your photo opportunities. Finally, you end your day with a trip to the fantastic Georgetown to enjoy the shops and nightlife in one of the most popular and exclusive areas of DC's. The locals are accustomed to see Segway riders on the streets of Georgetown, so it should be right at home when you drive at night.

Although Washington, D.C. offers you shine and makes that Richmond can not keep up with the capital of Virginia still one of the best Segway HT is the closest towns. Richmond is a unique city, individual in its mix of Northern urbanism and southern culture and tradition. During the civil war Richmond served as the Capitol of the Confederacy, but with the recent gentrification of the Northern Virginia, the once proud southern stronghold Northern in character and attitude has grown and become more progressive and less historically rooted. Apart, that it should be expected to see unusual dose of tradition and class from this capital city of Virginia. Drivers can worried about the way the native with the appearance of the Segways could respond on their roads, but these fears are not required. Richmond has become a Centre for counter-culture and subcultures such as skating and cycling and the inhabitants of the city are more than accommodating with Segway riders. If you decide to see Richmond via Segway, make sure to stop history at the grave of General Robert E. LEE for a dose of civil war. For dinner not with the famous tobacco can go wrong company restaurant in downtown Richmond. As the name suggests, the building was originally a tobacco manufacturer, which has since become a upscale restaurant.

Segway The Best Choice

SegwaySegway rental can be expensive work, but the experience you get from riding one you will certainly with some happy memories. Horse riding one is truly a unique opportunity to glide along while you are standing.

If the Segway was in 2001 was predicted that it would take over from the car in the same way that the car from the horse, but took over the never really as it proved to be not a practical option, but in the last several years Segway rental materialized gradually more become popular as a mode of transport in tourist places.

Segway rental can be expensive (approximately $75 for an hour drive) train, but the novelty and fun that you are out of the experience justify the cost. I would almost certainly not rent a Segway anywhere, but there are a few places where Segway rent must is.

In where you can rent a Segway, Amsterdam and London , but you would be probably better to rent a bike which is much better suited, on the streets in these cities because they use bike lanes, which have named safer, are.

Segway scooter Golf

Segway Scooter Golf

SegwayThe Segway Golf scooter also called shall give a totally new way to cross the course Golf enthusiasts as a Segway X 2. Battery of carrier rack and increased traction tires, the Segway Golf scooter that offers golfers of all the tools through the game in a fun, unique style go a golf bag with increased range.

If you a golf player or not, you will love it. If you are not a golfer, you will want to continue for the trip. Segway Golf roller functions as air carriers make the Greens as a golf cart bag as well as a score card holder and specialized low pressure tires, with 2 Golf quietly move the Segway X little damage. The X 2 compensates for uneven and hills has about a zero degree turning radius and seamlessly. X 2 fully charged, the roller has to sufficient range 36-hole (or fourteen miles) long

A normal round of golf game on the course covers usually at least 4 hours, but the Segway scooters that you'll be done in less than three hours. Players, to use the Segway Scooter is also noticed that it's easier to talk, as all four players around the course side by side could move, rather than forced, in two separate carts up to break.

Applied science is a there. After more or less ten minutes training could virtually sure to maneuver each on a Segway scooter. Offers, but also bar such as a motorcycle, there is no accelerator or brake. You lean forward easily go forward, supported a bit turn around to the rear, and are just to stop. It is therefore respond you actually can only think going forward and go.

There are really only a significant issue to confirm the move a Segway scooter. When you enter the platform with each foot, a green smiley face on a rounded window between the bar comes out. But if the whole thing is angled too far forward or backward, it will rumble and yellow, order bar set up, before you step on it.

This is not hard to remember. But if you don't, the yellow image that you forward as whatever step you kind of tumble forward, and ground to crush and bounce quickly feel like a dork,.

There are certain things that a player a can reach, Miss in addition to sit. There is no relief from the Sun on a Segway scooter as your hat. Although an insulated cooler bag hang it before the front of the golfers take preferred drink iced tea is, caddie score mounted map and ball between the handlebars, there is no basket, a hat or sweater in to throw away.

With the Segway Scooter on the golf course, brings an unparalleled experience. Because the platform is 8 cm above the ground, riders will receive a nice demonstration of the fairway. The Segway scooter moves 2 to 3 times walking speed and support can enjoy the driver move from place to place quickly, to his or her environment.

And how each piece on the Segway line of products, is zero emissions the Segway GT Scooter, almost inaudible and extremely energy efficient so you look good and feel Goo on the green.

Segway scooter night security

Segway Glider For Night Guards

SegwayThe Segway Glider is a brilliant idea for people move, it makes so much sense and it is so much fun to to cross. Recently, a friend and I were to go and I noticed that the Segway HT treated against uneven sidewalks pitting where roots had pushed it. Sometimes it was fun to drive, as if one of those small jump. Of course later I thought that it could be scary, even dangerous if one at night, it gave out no street lights or moon.

I propose that we lights on the Segway smart technology for night riding, but also not after below the battery to draw. Is it possible to build a light that can the sidewalk or path light without drawing down the Segway battery? There are energy efficient light, but is there a way, totally skip the use of battery and still have a bright light for safety, see under? How about a device that strengthens the already unparalleled maneuverability, movement and advanced energy system, which would allow the full power to the integrated control and sensors embedded? That is what I am talking about.

http://www.Segway.com/News

There are so many new advances in the Segway, but we can they take the next step and beyond? I suggest, a revolutionary new night lights security system for my new Segway with electromagnetic induction technology a condenser instead of the lights work from a battery or power source charged.

Currently, there are some nice micro torches used is, which can buy you, use a similar technique and are available, thanks to the Everlite torch technology research laboratory. These smaller lights work by they shake for about 30 seconds and shine for about 6 minutes and they glow very bright because they use a very bright LED light. Here is a link to this torch in the home use:

http://Demo.Physics.uiuc.edu/LectDemo/Scripts/demo_descript.IDC?DemoID=1138

Right now of course we use one of them and we have just duct taped it on the Segway and it tries out this evening, the question is, have we Segway new WowWee licensee to integrate such a device in the molded plastic design or we get two of them down and one forward. With sensors turn just before it gets dark as street lighting of the city they as the sun goes down, so that they shine and be ready. It is people, time to update our Segway scooters for the future. I remember.

For example, on a new, fully charged battery you can the maximum distance to go, if you flat on a smooth terrain riding. If on a University campus, which is a series of rolling hills and different terrain has on the road are, the roller will probably reach then not the full distance. PUMA motorized car facts about the PUMA - GM & Segways new 2 wheels

PUMA Motorized Car

PUMAGas prices must really be a problem if companies now completely absurd search for "experimental solutions" for drivers.  GM & Segway proposes a souped up on 2 wheels Segway type ride called the PUMA.  PUMA stands for personal mobility and accessibility and almost looks like a tricked out wheelchair on steroids, a speed of 35 mph and travel up to about 35 miles between recharge can rise.  The vehicle weighs less than 300 pounds, it's about 5 feet high, 3 M wide and 4 M long. Recharging the PUMA includes a lithium battery style costs about 60 cents and take approximately 8 to 10 hours.  PUMA should for city people who beyond need a vehicle for short trips on foot, and I think have never heard of the concept or simply to lazy or out of shape for a bicycle.  Here are some other things about the PUMA, you might not know:

Although similar to move how can the Segway HT 1. PUMA up to 3 times faster.

(2) The PUMA will be not allowed in most States, where the speed limit is higher than 35 mph...

3 GM and Segway are hoping that the PUMA will come to the market by 2012. It costs one-third to one-quarter of the cost of a normal car...

4. The PUMA weighs approx. 600 kg.

5. The PUMA will use OnStar crashes to avoid equipped vehicles with others or to communicate traffic jams.

Now will this concept never take off 2 wheeled vehicle by one after in my opinion and become a more toys that are rich people available.  If the sole purpose is car a few blocks instead of walking to get then maybe 2 wheels is not your problem and not enough exercise is the real problem.  Child obesity is now higher than ever, and I believe that a big part of it comes with technology for the wrong reasons.  Place sit at home all day eating Cheetos and playing baseball on your Nintendo Wii, would not it better when kids actually went to out there and picked up a racket and ball?  The same rules for adults should go and vehicles, instead of thousands of dollars for a car, just a few blocks that can travel, maybe you should put your large vente Mocha Frappaccino latte and just a few blocks walk!

Travel - Washington DC - City Segway Tours

City Segway Tours

Segway TourWhen I was recently in the city of Washington DC a group of middle-aged men and women in bike helmets but did not see any bikes I thought it was just a group that was going too fast. But their limbs were not moved at all. In fact, they looked like some statues transported in the back of a low-riding pickup.

Then I moved closer I realized that it was the Segways Personal Transporters they were riding. Group was moving through various attractions quietly and effortlessly. It was the city 3-4 hours Segway Tours costing $ 70 a pop. What an idea!

I understand that company providing this kind of Segway Tours offers similar tours in Atlanta, Budapest, Chicago, New Orleans, Paris, Rome and Vienna, as well.

I think it is a very interesting possibility, in the White House, National Archives, Washington Monument, Capitol Building and half a dozen world-class museums right there to see at the mall in a few hours. By doing everything on foot, you would be so tired that you take the next day off. And try to do the same with a car, you'll go crazy because there is no parking in downtown DC (Visitors caution). So a Segway Tour in downtown DC offers a happy medium between both the speed and the easy navigation to view congested areas. Smart idea indeed.

Next visit to the nation's capital, look for the Segway Tours yourself.

Segway City Tours

Segway Tours

SegwayTourism is a wonderful market in to get.

Will spend like money always tourists and tourists. They can drive tours to sell and they get on a Segway! You can charge at least $65 per person and the small groups of 5-10 people up to speed. Every tour should take no longer than 2 hours.

Segways are on the new two wheeled vehicles, which tourists can stand and tour without foot pain, often associated with walks. It takes a little time to show how to use them people, but they are the best idea for tours, which could otherwise be made on foot. It's nice to be able to cover large areas of the walks with these Segways.

If you are an area of tourist frequented in the vicinity, you can offer tours to them and they get on a Segway! This is the tour even more attractive make, by offering fun your tours with these small people mover.

There are even people who would love learn how to first use the Segway. Offer a simple tour, which helps teaches people how a Segway and offer it for far less. Maybe you could $25 per person for a short 30-minute tour free of charge, which includes lessons learned from the use of the Segway. (Take safety tips and contain correct labels with pedestrians and large vehicles!) This would be a good opportunity for those who are not sure whether they would be comfortable with a Segway Tour. As soon as they experience the fun, they are sure that a longer tour with you want to follow. (Offer a discount on these new users for a tour of their choice.)

Because they offer these Segways for your tours, need to invest in a good number of them. Depending on how many people you plan to take your tours. Check your environment fun and see if you buy or they lease small vehicles. You can be expensive, so you be ready, a considerable amount want to spend money, but the investment will be value. A return should enjoy their tours plus on your investment make it easier!

Because you offer your tours with Segways, your tours make more attractive than other walks in the area. Sad but true, as people get older they tend, more to travel, but if they have problems that it very difficult can participate tours on foot for long periods which will be time for them on this fun would otherwise miss them.

If you decide that you want to do this, make sure that the area you are travelling will allow Segways. They must check with local regulations and ensure that they have small groups of Segways on tours of the area allow. Paths for cycling in General, be able to use them. When it comes to busy city sidewalks, need to do some research to make sure that your tours will cause more congestion and difficulty. You may simply your tours sometimes provide that the sidewalks are during the day not so busy.

Maneuver control skateboards upside down - the hover Board of the future

Segway And Skateboards

skateboardThe engineers and designers are always seriously to build the skateboards of the future, but these are not regular skateboards, we speak hyper maneuverable hover boards. In fact, the online think tank prepares a special report of the future of Skateboards parks, Skateboards and hover boards of the future now. In fact, one of the most difficult issues is security.

How can we keep safe the hover-board systems for skateboards drivers? How we keep skateboards of dumping their driver on the head, you have to wonder at the maneuvering technology expert from Amherst University in Massachusetts?

Good question and for your question hover skateboards, stabilization, roles or upside down here are some thoughts are; We hold the skateboard or hover Board in ' positive 'G'-mode "all the time. How does a barrel roll in a plane, hang-gliding, parasail, or helicopter. If start high speed steep bank, with one and it stay in the positive g all around you.

In the special report from the online think tank you will see two elements in the report reference section; # 2 and # 8. The Board-on-board sensors to sense the weight distribution and watch him for the driver. Drag the Segway methods or the young scientist who has the bike, on the DARPA Grand Challenge race into consideration?

This technology is available now and will be refined in the use of wheelchairs, artificially intelligent robot Android support units and similar gyro systems used marine industries in the whole space, aviation,. There are six axes communication antennas now used in many areas. It is just a matter of size, weight, cost, and Moore's law. These sensors and systems get so small, can you do now a flying mosquito size unit, and they. This makes the stabilization system.

The most military fighters have it now to prevent autopilot type flight control systems for launch from an aircraft carrier, which dampen broken out and correction of the human pilot. There are also system that prevent that a pilot departure flight through an impossible manoeuvre, not possible to make the aircraft.

Because the skateboarder in a command sets the Board move, but is not admit that the driver, based on the level of the game be endangered. Could a skateboard beginner and an advanced rider could turn off the system. Then someone, will come together with magnetic boots brings to them, because the upside down without the use of G-force "Stability techniques and the invention of the fun for the most advanced riders are added." The skateboard/hoverboard will become only a platform of "Zoom-Zoom" and have many uses besides just to have fun.

The final phase of this technology in the future time a hoverboard through controlled thought how the future HUD systems used in the Apache attack helicopters, but the helmet used for skateboarding are a very thin cap of carbon nano-tube material to protect of the skateboard driver and the neuron transfers with one to read ultrasound stereo system on an extremely low power setting between CAP and skull.

"Your wish is my command and control"

And this is, such as the online think tank provides for, all this integrated stability and control systems work. And they believe that it works very well. Is the question that will be enough to go daring young driver? Now, it seems that they are at least all the ones that we asked, is that for the research project.

Segways for use in law enforcement

Segway For Low Enforcers

SegwayLast year heard I of police services in the country buy Segways and I wondered whether there was a use for them in law of enforcement. I saw news footage of people with Segways and they seemed slow and bulky. I also thought they must be dangerous after the visit to crashes so many videos of people on them (the videos were very amusing)

A few months ago, I learned that my agency was a fleet of the buy Segways and training would be interested with them take part. Recently, I attended the seminar and I must say I am quite impressed with the Segway.

The most impressive aspect of the Segway is its speed. They top out at around 12.5 miles per hour which is a pretty good price of speed. You accelerate quickly and officer could with one suspect, escape on foot or by bicycle to easily catch up.

Learn to operate of the Segway took a bit of time, but after a few hours I felt invincible, as I curbs jumped and drove along the sidewalks and grass. The Segway HT treated perfectly, if made of concrete to jump curbs at top speed, this is a must if you suspect after hunting or quickly responds to the demand for service plan.

I was also shocked to learn that the Segway on grass, dirt and gravel can operate the site. I assumed the Segway was a single machine, the patches, but I was wrong. Slows the Segway by grass go, but it was able to take me up and down a grassy Hill.

Another impressive feature is the Segway ability, Central and turn left. I could down busy sidewalks while easily Manuevering go to people, light poles, cars and other obstacles. The most impressive feature is the ability to immediately stop the Segway during the journey at top speed. The race along at 12.5 miles per hour while I was immediately to stop the Segway by you sat back and pull on the handlebars. This function is ideal for situations where you need to pause and stop the Segway for emergency or to avoid a collision.

I was concerned, the potential for the Segways stolen, if officers not allowed them in the course of research that they walk away from their Segways required. I have learned that our Segways with audible alarm is activated when someone touches it after the officer activates the alarm system. The Segways are also very difficult, and it would be no easy task for someone who pick one and run away with him.

While on the Segway, you are able, your immediate surroundings better monitor, because you are greater than all the others in the vicinity. Officers are clearly visible to the public during the Segways, which is an excellent crime deterrent.

The Segway HT will benefit a Police Department in maps where officers with large numbers of people or urban areas such as inner cities and apartment complexes to do. It is also a great community policing tool in that it will include officers from their cruisers and above and Personals with the community. Officers are able to easily to approach and communicate with the people while on the Segway.

I think that quickly enough and quiet enough for narcotics and many others patrol functions are used the Segway that ideal community policing tool, but it is.
